What To Do When Battlefield 1 Can’t Connect To The Servers?

Now check the following methods to know the probable reasons why Battlefield 1 can’t connect to EA servers and the solutions to fix the problem.

1) Check Your Internet Connection

Battlefield 1 won’t connect if you do not have a stable internet connection.

So, make sure that you are properly connected to stable internet.

If you are having a problem with your ethernet connection then fix it and then move on to the next solutions.

2) Check Battlefield Status

After checking your internet connection, if EA servers still can’t connect to Battlefield 1, then check if there is any server outage, server overload or the server is under maintenance.

Just visit Battlefield Direct Communication, and check the status of the server.

If the server is down, then you will have to wait for some time till EA fixes it.

3) Restart Router Or Modem

A fresh restart to the router or modem often fixes network connection-related issues.

So, restart your router or modem and see if Battlefield 1 can connect to the EA server.

Follow the steps to restart your router or modem:

  • Turn off your router or modem and detach the power cables.
  • Wait for a few minutes and then connect the cables and turn on the router or the modem.

4) Flush DNS And Reset Your Network

If BF1 can’t connect to the EA server after restarting your router or modem, then flush the DNS.

There are chances that the cache got corrupted and this is preventing Battlefield to connect to the servers.

By flushing DNS you can clear the previous DNS records from the cache and solve the problem.

Now to flush DNS, follow these steps:

  • Enter CMD in Windows Search Menu and right-click on Command Prompt. Choose Run as administrator.

  • Enter the given commands in the elevated Command Prompt window one by one. Press the Enter button on your keyboard after entering each command.
ipconfig /flushdns

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

netsh int ip reset

netsh winsock reset

After successfully running these commands, check if the problem is solved.

5) Change DNS

Sometimes the DNS server can be misconfigured and give you connection-related issues.

So try changing your DNS address to check if it fixes the issue. Follow the given steps to do it:

  • Open Windows Settings by pressing Windows + I keys. Select the Network & Internet option from the displayed window.

  • From the right side pane, find the Change Adapter Options and click on it.

  • Now right-click on your Network Adapter and open its Properties.

  • Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 [TCP/IPv4] and open its Properties.

  • Next set the Preferred DNS Server Address value to and the Alternate DNS Server address value to

Finally, click on the OK button to save the changes made.

6) Update Your Network Drivers

Outdated network drivers can also be the reason why EA servers can’t connect to Battlefield 1.

So, update your network drivers and check if this can fix the problem.

If you find the same problem after updating the network drivers then change the start-up type of Origin client service as shown in the next solution.

7) Change Start Up Type Of Origin Client Service

Changing the start-up type of Origin Client Service can also solve the problem. So, try it following the steps given below:

  • Close Battlefield and Origin. Open Run utility by pressing Windows + R keys on your keyboard.
  • Enter services.msc in the Run command box and press the Enter button.

  • From the services, locate Origin Client services and right-click on it. Expand its Properties.

  • Go to Startup type and click on the drop-down menu. Select the Automatic option and save the changes.

After this, restart Origin and check if this has solved the problem.

8) Disable Firewall Or Antivirus

Windows Firewall Protection or any antivirus that you are using can interfere and cause this problem.

So, turn off the Firewall or antivirus temporarily and this can fix the problem.

Here I am showing you how to disable Windows Defender Firewall.

If you are using any other antivirus, then disable it too. Follow the steps to disable Windows Defender Firewall:

  • Enter Windows Defender Firewall in the Windows Start Menu and choose the top option.
  • From the left side, click on Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off.

  • Next click on the radio button for Turn off Windows Defender Firewall (not recommended option). Do this for both Private and Public network settings.

9) Use a VPN

If no other step has worked for you and Battlefield 1 still cannot connect to the server, try using a VPN service.

It will let you connect to a different server while masking your IP address.

There are plenty of VPN services available in the market. So choose as per your preference.
