An outdated Minecraft launcher can be the reason behind this problem. So, follow the steps and update the launcher:

  • Open Minecraft Launcher and click on Options.
  • Next, click on the Force Update option and wait till the process gets finished.

Now try to download and check if Minecraft can download now.

2) Open Minecraft Through Vanilla Launcher

If Minecraft failed to download a file due to a glitch in a mod that was applied to some non-vanilla launcher, then open Minecraft via Vanilla Launcher.

Follow the steps to do so:

  • Close the previous launcher and then open Minecraft Vanilla Launcher.
  • Click on the Play option and run it till you see Create Game screen option.

  • Now close Vanilla Launcher. Make sure to close it from the system tray.
  • Open the normal launcher and check if you can run it now.

3) Get Rid Of The Corrupted Mod

If the mod you are using is corrupted then this can create a problem with Minecraft downloads. So, remove the corrupted Mod and check.

Follow the process to remove the corrupted Mod:

  • Copy the Mods and save them to some other location.
  • Now delete the Mods folder. Open your Minecraft Launcher and check if it is working properly now.

If you find there is no problem then close the launcher.

  • Now copy the mods one by one and paste them to the Mods folder. Open the Minecraft launcher each time to check if it is working fine.
  • Repeat the process till you find the problematic Mod. This way you will be able to detect the corrupted Mod.
  • Once the Mod is detected, update the Mod or contact the developer to solve the problem.
