Why Is My Gmail Not Receiving Emails

There can be many reasons why your Gmail account is not receiving emails anymore.

The account storage can be full, there may be syncing issues, the mails can get stored in other folders, domain issues, etc.

What To Do When Not Receiving Emails On Gmail?

Here is a step-by-step guide to help you when you are no longer receiving Gmail. Have a look!

1) Check Your Internet Connection

You need to be connected to the internet to check your received emails. So, ensure a stable internet connection when you find Gmail not receiving emails.

If you want to access Gmail from your cell phone, check that you have turned on the Wi-Fi or the mobile data.

If you are using a PC, click on the internet icon from the notification tray and check if you are connected to the network.

You can also perform a speed test by clicking here. There are plenty of websites available on the internet to do so, so choose one accordingly.

2) Check For Domain Or Account Issues

You may not receive Gmail if you have issues with the domain account.

If your Google Workspace is suspended, you can no longer receive or send emails.

Make sure your domain registration has not expired, or you have completed all the procedures while buying a new domain.

You usually receive an email asking for a confirmation of your email address. If the domain host fails to verify your email address, your domain may be disabled.

So, check your previous mails and make sure that you haven’t received such kinds of emails.

Also, check Google status Dashboard and ensure no service outage.

3) Clear Your Gmail Inbox

We often hoard our email inbox with plenty of unnecessary messages. So, the storage space can run out preventing new messages from arriving.

So, look through your inbox and delete the messages you no longer need.

Also remember that Google now has connected cloud storage, with all the apps using the same account sharing the same space.

So, your Google Photos or Drive is sharing the cloud space with your Gmail account. If Photos or Drive becomes full, then you won’t also get emails on your Gmail account.

4) Check The Spam messages

Emails often get filtered as spams or important. Check that your Gmail is not filtered and sent to the Spam folder.

So, select the Spam folder and look for the emails you are waiting for. If you find them, then you can move them to inbox.

Make sure to also check the Trash folder. You may have deleted the email unknowingly and that’s why you cannot find it.

You can stop the filters from blocking your emails. To do so, follow the steps given below:

  • Click on the gear icon from the top right corner. Then click on the See all Settings option.
  • Next, select Filters and Blocked Addresses and look through the messages.

5) Update The Gmail App

Make sure that the Gmail app is up to date. If the Gmail app is outdated, then it may have syncing errors, or you may even lose your emails.

So, when you are not receiving emails, update the Gmail app through Google’s Play Store or App Store.

6) Sign Out And Sign Back In To The Gmail Account

Another thing you can try is logging out of your Gmail account and then logging back in.

You should be able to see the missing emails after resigning in your Gmail account. To do so, follow the steps given below:

  • Click on your profile icon from the top right corner of the Gmail page.
  • Choose the Sign out option. Sign in back with your credentials and check if you are receiving emails now.

Some antivirus programs filter your emails, thinking of them as malicious.

So, try disabling your antivirus program and see if that lets the emails to be received on your Gmail.

If it does, then next you can check for the Email filtering option on the Antivirus settings and only disable that and then re-enable the antivirus.
